Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from EH Bildu, PNV, ERC, Junts per Catalunya, Sinn Féin and Régions et Peuples Solidaires have presented a group in favour of the reight of self-determination, which in the next Conference over the Future of Europe a new ‘European clarity act’ aiming to “settle the democratic conflicts on the free determination” in the core of the European Union.
Pernando Barrena / EH Bildu, Izaskun Bilbao / EAJ-PNV, Jordi Solé / ERC, Chris MacManus / Sinn Féin, François Alfonsi / Régions et Peuples Solidaires and Toni Comín / Junts per Catalunya, are the people who presented the ‘Self-Determination Caucus’ on the 20th of January in Brussels. The foundational manifesto has been equally signed by Carles Puigdemont / Junts per Cat, Clara Ponsatí y Diana Riba /ERC.
‘Self-Determination Caucus’ is formed as “a non-official MEPs group that represent stateless nations and nations with territorial disputes” that advocate for “freely and democratically exercise their right of self-determination in a legally recognized way”.
